Crow's Nest

Roxanne checked us in and she was courteous and helpful. I saw some bad reviews about staff and other issues, and we saw absolutely NONE of the issues others complained about. Room was exceptionally clean. Comfy bed. Bathroom clean and everything worked. Plenty of hot water. Drains worked. Wifi worked. Nice TV AC and heat worked. Decent continental breakfast. Very easy to find motel. We could hear the Lakeshore at night. We were impressed maintenance was painting outdoors. We weren't at all bothered that we had to walk a VERY SHORT distance to the Bay Inn next door to check in/out, access the pool/spa, and get the breakfast. We managed to lock ourselves out the first night, and it was no problem getting replacement card keys. We met the owner Nick who checked us out, Cammie, head of housekeeping, Mike the maintenance manager, and ALL were courteous and kind.

For the price, this is a great spot. If you're seeking 5 stars, this isn't it; if you're just looking for a good place to stay without outrageous rates, this is perfect. Close to water/beach (3 minutes or so) and roughly 10 minutes from downtown. Breakfast across the street in the main hotel is very nice and the area is kept clean.

Older motel, clean, quite, basic no frills. Exactly what we need while visiting family.

Good clean room for the price.

Friendly staff. Free breakfast & coffee. Great location to Tawas. Very accommodating for my dog.
